Ramp-Up Strategies
Learn how to configure gradual volume increases for account safety.
Ramp-Up Strategies
Ramp-up gradually increases sending volume over time, which helps maintain account health and avoid triggering Facebook's spam detection.
Why Use Ramp-Up
Sudden spikes in messaging activity can flag accounts:
- New accounts have strict initial limits
- Returning accounts need to rebuild trust
- Even established accounts benefit from gradual increases
Ramp-up simulates natural usage patterns by starting with low volume and increasing gradually.
Ramp-Up Types
Disabled
No ramp-up applied. Campaign sends at full configured limit from day one.
Use when:
- Account is well-established with consistent history
- You've been actively messaging recently
- Testing message content with small campaigns
Incremental
Automatically increases daily limit by a set amount each day.
Settings:
| Setting | Description | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Increment | Messages added per day | 1-20 |
| Max Increment | Maximum variance | 1-20 |
Example:
- Starting limit: 5
- Increment: 3
- Day 1: 5 messages
- Day 2: 8 messages
- Day 3: 11 messages
- Day 4: 14 messages
- (continues until reaching campaign's max limit)
The actual increment varies randomly between increment and max_increment for more natural patterns.
Staged
Staged ramp-up is available on the Momentum plan and above. Incremental ramp-up is available on all plans.
Define specific volume levels for date ranges. Provides precise control over the ramp-up schedule.
Settings:
Each stage has:
- Start Date - When this stage begins
- End Date - When this stage ends
- Value - Daily message limit during this stage
Example:
| Stage | Dates | Daily Limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jan 1-7 | 5 |
| 2 | Jan 8-14 | 15 |
| 3 | Jan 15-21 | 25 |
| 4 | Jan 22+ | 40 |
Recommended Strategies
New Account (< 30 days old)
Use Incremental with conservative settings:
- Increment: 1-2
- Max Increment: 2-3
- Starting limit: 3-5
Returning Account (After Inactivity)
Use Staged for predictable ramp-up:
- Stage 1 (Days 1-3): 50% of previous normal volume
- Stage 2 (Days 4-7): 75% of previous normal volume
- Stage 3 (Day 8+): Full volume
Aged Account (New to MessengerFlow)
Use Incremental with moderate settings:
- Increment: 2-4
- Max Increment: 4-5
- Starting limit: 10-15
Established Account
Can use Disabled or light ramp-up:
- If recently active: Disabled is safe
- If inactive for weeks: Use Incremental with increment of 5+
Ramp-Up Duration
Typical ramp-up periods:
| Account Type | Recommended Duration |
|---|---|
| Brand new account | 4+ weeks |
| New to automation | 2-3 weeks |
| After extended pause | 1-2 weeks |
| Established, active | None needed |
Monitoring During Ramp-Up
Watch for warning signs:
- Rate limiting messages
- Checkpoint requests
- Temporary blocks
- Reduced delivery rates
If issues occur:
- Pause the campaign immediately
- Reduce the increment value
- Extend the ramp-up period
- Resume after 24-48 hours
Ramp-Up vs Daily Limits
Ramp-up affects the daily limit setting:
- Campaign's configured min/max limits are the targets
- Ramp-up overrides these limits during the ramp-up period
- Once ramp-up completes, campaign uses configured limits
Example:
- Campaign configured: 30-40 messages/day
- Ramp-up: Incremental, starting at 5
- Days 1-10: Ramp-up limits (5, 8, 11, 14...)
- Day 11+: Campaign limits (30-40)
