Proxies
Learn how to configure proxies for your Facebook accounts.
Proxy Setup
Proxies route your account traffic through different IP addresses, helping maintain account safety and enabling multiple accounts to operate independently.
Why Use Proxies
- Account Safety - Prevents detection of automation patterns
- Geographic Targeting - Match IP location to account history
- Account Isolation - Each account operates from a unique IP
- Rate Limit Protection - Distribute requests across IPs
Proxy Types
| Type | Recommended | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | Yes | Best for account safety, appears as real user traffic |
| Mobile | Yes | Excellent reputation, higher cost |
| Datacenter | No | Often flagged by Facebook |
| ISP | Sometimes | Can work but less reliable than residential |
Recommendation: Use residential proxies from reputable providers.
Adding a Proxy
Navigate to Proxies and click Add Proxy.
Required Fields
| Field | Description | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| IP Address | Proxy server IP | Valid IPv4 address |
| Port | Proxy port | 1-65535 |
Optional Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Username | Authentication username |
| Password | Authentication password |
| Name | Display name for easy identification |
| Location | IANA timezone of the proxy's IP address. Helps align browser fingerprints with the proxy's geographic location for improved account safety. |
Proxy Authentication
Most quality proxy providers require authentication:
- Username/Password - Standard authentication method
- IP Whitelisting - Some providers allow IP-based auth (not recommended for MessengerFlow)
Unauthenticated proxies may be blocked depending on your account settings.
Proxy Format
When adding proxies in bulk, use this format:
ip:port:username:password
Or without authentication:
ip:port
Verifying Proxies
After adding a proxy, verify it works:
- Navigate to Proxies
- Click the menu (three dots) next to the proxy
- Select Verify
The system will test connectivity and report success or failure.
Proxy Assignment
Each Facebook account should have a dedicated proxy:
- Navigate to Accounts
- Edit the account
- Select the proxy from the dropdown
- Save changes
Do not share proxies between accounts - this can trigger Facebook's security systems.
Recommended Providers
Popular residential proxy providers include:
| Provider | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Webshare | Residential | Good price-to-quality ratio |
| Bright Data | Residential/Mobile | Enterprise-grade, higher cost |
| Smartproxy | Residential | Reliable, good support |
| Oxylabs | Residential | Premium quality |
Choose providers that offer:
- Sticky sessions (same IP for extended periods)

- Residential IPs in your target regions
